BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week
Avrie Nelsen, Villanova, So., F
Nelsen ended a 2-0 week with four goals for eight points in the 2-0 win versus Columbia and Sunday’s 11-0 victory over Iona. She recorded one goal versus the Lions at the 49:29 mark off an assist from Morgan Kotch. Against the Gaels, Nelsen scored three goals for her first collegiate hat trick. Her six points were also a career high.
BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
Meredith Palmer, Villanova, Jr., D
Palmer was a steady piece of the Wildcats' defense as she helped Villanova hold Columbia and Iona to a combined three shots on frame in a 2-0 week. Palmer and the Wildcats allowed zero shots on goal from the Gaels. She also scored the first goal of her career in the 11-0 win over Iona.
BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week
Mia Hurd, Marquette, Fr., GK
Hurd anchored Marquette's defense to back-to-back shutouts and helped the Golden Eagles remain unbeaten through six matches for the first time since 2005. She made three saves against Milwaukee before recording five saves against Northern Illinois, turning aside every shot on target she faced during the week.
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Jocy Koffi, Providence, Fr., F
Koffi totaled six points on three goals this past week against Stonehill and Rutgers. In the 3-3 comeback tie against the Scarlet Knights, she scored twice, marking her first multi-goal collegiate game.
BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Olivia Sides, Creighton, So., D
Sides led the Bluejays to a 2-0-0 week, posting a pair of 1-0 shutouts over Kansas City and Missouri. Sides played the full 90 in both contests, helping limit KC and Missouri to just eight shots on goal in the pair of clean sheets.
Mason Hillery, DePaul, Sr. GK
Hillery staved off four shot opportunities from UIC to record her fourth collegiate clean sheet.
Lauren Spence, St. John’s, Jr., D
Spence contributed on both ends of the pitch during the Red Storm’s shutout victory over UMBC. The junior started and logged 69 minutes, earning an assist on Burt’s second-half goal for the first point of her career. Spence helped St. John’s hold UMBC to eight shots and just two attempts on target as the Johnnies secured their second straight clean sheet.
Kileigh Gorman, Seton Hall, Jr., M
Gorman scored two goals in Sunday's 5-0 win at New Haven. The first goal of the day for Gorman was a highlight, striking one into the upper 90 from outside the box to open the scoring in the 10th minute. She added her second goal of the day in the 28th minute.
Hannah Dickinson, Villanova, Gr., GK
Dickinson anchored the Villanova defense in 135 minutes of action, making three saves on the week, all against Columbia. The 2-0 win at Columbia marked her second complete shutout of the year and the 16th of her Wildcat career.
