DePaul Secures Win In BIG EAST EGF Esports Invitational
The DePaul esports team defeated Seton Hall in the Electronic Gaming Federation (EGF) - BIG EAST Esports Invitational tournament on December 6-7 at OS Studios in New York City. DePaul and Seton Hall went head to head in Rocket League. DePaul defeated Seton Hall, 4-3.
Esports teams from Butler and Xavier were also semifinalists which competed on championship Sunday. Seton Hall defeated Xavier 4-0, while DePaul knocked out Butler, by the same score. Click for more.

BIG EAST League of Legends Spring Season Starts Jan. 20
BIG EAST esports teams are set to kick off their spring season on Jan. 20. Those competing will participate in the BIG EAST League of Legends Season on six Sundays of competition over an eight-week span. The season will be powered by BIG EAST partner ESL, the world's largest independent esports company.
The matches are conducted online on ESL Play. Fans can follow the action live through ESL's main League of Legends Twitch Channel www.twitch.tv/esl_lol. The matches will also be simulcast on the BIG EAST Youtube. To join the conversation follow #BIGEASTEsports and @ESLCollegiate.

BIG EAST, Riot Games Announce College League of Legends partnership for Spring 2019
The BIG EAST and Riot Games, the creator of League of Legends, today announced a partnership to launch the spring 2019 BIG EAST League of Legends championship. Seven of the BIG EAST Conference's 10 schools will participate in the competition, which features the most played PC video game in the world. The participating teams include: Butler, DePaul, Marquette, Providence, St. John's, Seton Hall and Villanova. Following a regular-season, which will start in January 2019, the top four teams will compete for the BIG EAST League of Legends championship title with the winner and runner-up earning berths to the League of Legends College Championship Play-in, with a chance to reach the League of Legends College Championship.
