Creighton’s Lemke, Xavier's McMyler, Georgetown’s Hutter Take Weekly Golf Honors

NEW YORK – Creighton’s Katherine Lemke and Xavier’s Emma McMyler have been named BIG EAST Female Co-Golfers of the Week after each earned medalist honors in their respective tournaments.  Georgetown’s Max Hutter has been selected BIG EAST Male Golfer of the Week after tying for fourth place at the Georgetown Intercollegiate.
 

BIG EAST Female Co-Golfers of the Week

Katherine Lemke, Creighton, Fr. – Lemke took medalist honors and led the Bluejays to a team victory at the Creighton Classic played at Oak Hills Country Club.  The freshman fired rounds of 74, 76 and 74 for a 5-over 224.  She finished one stroke ahead of teammate and classmate Eleanor Hudepohl.  Lemke has opened her collegiate career with three straight top-10 finishes.  The Bluejays were atop the team standings by 21 strokes.

Emma McMyler, Xavier, So. -- McMyler won the individual title at the Bradley Coyote Classic.  She posted a 54-hole score of 206 (-10) to rank first in a field of 65 golfers.  Her score established a school record for 54 holes.  The Musketeers posted their first team win of the fall with a score of 871 (+7).   
 

BIG EAST Male Golfer of the Week

Max Hutter, Georgetown, Fr. – Hutter tied for fourth place at the 37th annual Georgetown Intercollegiate with a 4-under 209.  He carded rounds of 73, 67 and 69 under difficult weather conditions at the Fourstreams Club in Beallsville, Md.  The Hoyas finished fourth in the team standings.

Men’s Notes – Seton Hall also competed at the Georgetown Intercollegiate, finishing eighth in the team standings, four strokes behind the Hoyas.  Graduate student Gregor Tait led the Pirates and tied for 10th place among 65 individual golfers with a 2-under 211 (72-68-71).  It’s his fifth career sub-par tournament and his seventh top-10 finish…St. John’s finished seventh at the Columbia Autumn Invitational.  Freshman Peicheng Chen tied for 15th with a two-round total of 145 (72-73).  He drained eight birdies over the 36 holes…Marquette took eighth place at the Purdue Invitational at Kampen Golf Course, the final tournament for the Golden Eagles this fall.  Hunter Eichhorn led the team for the third time this fall with a 2-over 218 (75-72-71).  He tied for 22ndCreighton finished sixth at the Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate in Jonesboro, Ark.  Nate Vontz continued his strong season with a tie for eighth place.  The senior earned his ninth straight top-11 finish dating to last season after a final-round 70.  He also carded rounds of 73 and 75.  Vontz has shot par or better in 5-of-12 rounds this fall...UConn was led by Caleb Manuel at the Carolina Collegiate Invite.  He posted his fourth consecutive top-5 finish with a 5-under 211 (70-67-74).  He finished in a four-way tie third place.


Women’s Notes – Georgetown placed eighth at the Yale Invitational.  Junior Lauren May tied for eighth place with a 219 (68-71-80)…Butler took third at the Rocket Classic.  Katelyn Le shot a 3-over 75 on the final round to pull into a tie for third.  She shot rounds of 75, 76 and 75…St. John’s placed second at the Quinnipiac Classic.  Senior Jesse Kweon tied for second individually, carding scores of 77, 72 and 80.
