Butler, Seton Hall Capture BIG EAST Weekly Golf Honors

NEW YORK – Addi Kooi and Ashley Freitas of Butler were named BIG EAST Female Golfers of the Week, while Jace Hulett of Seton Hall and Logan Sutto from Butler are the BIG EAST Male Golfers of the Week.  

Kooi and Freitas led the way for the Bulldogs at the Butler Fall Invitational, each tying for seventh place with a total score of 219 (+9).  Hulett - in just his second collegiate event - won the Shepherd's Rock Individual in Farmington, Pa.  Hulett finished with an 8-under par total of 208.  Sutto finished second at the Virtues Intercollegiate in Nashport, Ohio, registering a 9-under total of 207.

BIG EAST Female Golfers of the Week

Addi Kooi, Butler, Fr.
Kooi tied for seventh at the Butler Fall Invitational, finishing with a 54-hole total score of 219 (+9).  She shot a 3-over 73 to post the best Tuesday score among the Bulldogs.  She tied her teammate, Ashley Freitas, on the leaderboard.

Freitas, who competed as an individual, also posted an aggregate score of 219 (+9) at the Butler Fall Invitational.  She carded a pair of 1-over 71's during the first and second rounds of action.

BIG EAST Male Golfers of the Week

Jace Hulett, Seton Hall, Fr.
Hulett posted a victory in his second collegiate tournament, going 8-under (208) at the Shepherd's Rock Individual.  His 2-under 70 during Tuesday's final round secured the win.  Hulett's 208 aggregate score ties him for the ninth-lowest par 72, 54-hole total in SHU history.

Logan Sutto, Butler, So.
Sutto tied a Butler program record with an 8-under 64 during the final round at the 2025 Virtues Intercollegiate.  He posted six birdies and an eagle on the day, vaulting him into a tie for second.  Behind Sutto's record-setting day, the Bulldogs took the team title with a 9-under 855.

Women's Notes - Providence competed at the Sacred Heart Fall Classic in Milford, Conn. and was led by Gwendolyn Yarnall, who finished tied for 17th (76-84-77=237, +21)...Yarnall tallied seven birdies for the tournament, becoming the first Friar to finish in the top 20 of a tournament...Katharine Marshall led Creighton at the Diane Thomason Invitational in Iowa City, tying for 21st place (80-77-73=230) in a field of 90 golfers...Butler placed third in its home event - the Butler Fall Invitational - with a team score of 888.

Men’s Notes – Butler placed first as a team at the 2025 Virtues Intercollegiate; six shots ahead of Loyola Chicago on the team leaderboard...UConn was also victorious, capturing the 2025 UConn Invitational at GreatHorse...The Huskies were led by Bradley Sawka, who posted his second top five finish of the fall, tying for the top spot before falling on the second playoff hole (71-67-74=212)...St. John's, Villanova and Providence also competed at the UConn Invitational at GreatHorse...The Red Storm tied for third on the team leaderboard (872), including going 5-under as a team over the final 36 holes...Joseph Dolezal tied for third place individually, at 3-under (212)...Villanova was fifth as a team, keeping its streak of four top five finishes going...Matt Zerfas was the top finisher for the Wildcats, tying for third place (213, -3)...Providence finished 10th at the UConn Invitational (902), led by Callan Fahey's t23rd finish (221)...Seton Hall was third as a team at the Nemacolin Collegiate Invitational, with a total score of 847 - the fourth-lowest par 72 54-hole aggregate in program history...Creighton tied its season-low team score with an 11-under par 853 at the Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational...The Bluejays placed 10th as a team and were led by Grant Feldman, who tied for 14th in the field (209, -7)...Marquette placed 10th as a team at the Windon Memorial Classic in Lake Forest, Ill., led by Johan Widal's tie for 14th place (211, -5)
