Joshua Paige, Georgetown, Jr., Sprints
Paige clocked in at a BIG EAST-best 21.00 in the 200 meters along with a 10.60 in the 100 meters at the Florida Relays last week. The junior sprinter’s 100m time ranks second in the conference this outdoor season. Paige’s 200m time also ranks 76
th among all NCAA Division I sprinters.
BIG EAST Men’s Field Athlete of the Week
Travis Roux, Connecticut, So., Throws
At the UConn Dog Fight, Roux set a personal record in the discus with a distance of 50.71 meters. His distance is the best in the conference this outdoor season and ranks eighth all-time in UConn program history.
BIG EAST Women’s Track Athlete of the Week
A’liyah Thomas, Connecticut, So., Sprints
The sophomore sprinter ran a personal-best 13.59 in the 100-meter hurdles at the UConn Dog Fight over the weekend. Her time sits at first in the league so far this season and ranks 46
th on the NCAA Division I outdoor performance list.
BIG EAST Women’s Field Athlete of the Week
Eni Akinniyi, Georgetown, Gr., Jumps
At the Florida Relays, Akinniyi jumped a distance of 12.45 meters in the triple jump last week. Her jump was best in the BIG EAST last week and ranks third in the league overall this outdoor season. Akinniyi’s distance is also 76
th nationally.
Notable Performances
- Butler’s Morgan Werner clocked in at a personal-best in the 5,000 meters at the Washington University Distance Carnival with a time of 16:43.04
- Connecticut’s Sofia Wittmann broke a personal record in the pole vault with a distance of 3.80 meters at the UConn Dog Fight; Her height is also the best in the BIG EAST this season
- Providence’s Alex O’Neill set a meet and personal record at Bryant University’s Black and Gold Invitational in the 1500 meters with a mark of 4:28.91
- Villanova’s Evan Addison ran a personal-best in the 1500 meters with a time of 3:48.39 at the Big 5 Invitational hosted by the University of Pennsylvania; His time was the best in the BIG EAST last and third overall this season
