UConn's season ended Friday with a 2-1 loss to Massachusetts in the first round of the NCAA Field Hockey Championship.
The Huskies got out to an early lead with freshman Juul Sauer scoring less than seven minutes into the game on a penalty corner.
UConn held the lead for most of the game, but the Minutewomen responded in the fourth quarter with two goals less than six minutes apart.
With the loss, the Huskies finish the season 17-4 overall and 6-1 in conference play. They won both the BIG EAST regular season and tournament titles.
The Minutewomen will take on Harvard in Storrs on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET in the second round of the Championship.
