BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week
Se-Hanna Mars, UConn, R-Fr., F
Mars recorded three goals in a 2-0 week against Butler and Villanova. In the 2-0 win at Butler, she scored her first career goal at the 82:44 mark. She then scored a brace in the 2-0 victory over Villanova on Saturday.
BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
Natalie Bain, Xavier, Sr., D
Bain totaled 159 minutes for the Musketeers as Xavier picked up a pair of shutout wins. In Xavier’s 3-0 win over St. John’s, she helped the Musketeer defense hold St. John's to a season-low matching two shots, with just one look on goal, on the way to its eighth shutout of the season. Against Providence, Bain played the full 90 minutes, helping Xavier’s defense hold Providence to just two shots overall and one shot on-goal, both season lows for the Friars, as Xavier picked up its ninth clean sheet of the season.
BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week
Ava Yamas, UConn, Fr., GK
Yamas made five saves in a pair of shutout wins over Butler (2-0) and Villanova (2-0) to improve her record in goal to 9-3-3. She made three saves on Wednesday against the Bulldogs and two versus Villanova on Saturday.
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Presley Pennekamp, Xavier, Fr., F
Pennekamp finished the week with three points after scoring her first collegiate goal, the game-winner in Xavier’s 2-0 victory against Providence. She also picked up an assist on Erbach's insurance goal against the Friars. Combined with two previous assists, she has five points for her freshman season.
BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Ellen Carter, Georgetown, Sr., D
Carter anchored the Georgetown defense in a dominant two-shutout week, guiding a unit that held Providence and Marquette scoreless and to just three shots in each game. Carter’s steady presence helped extend Georgetown’s unbeaten run in BIG EAST play while earning the team its seventh and eighth shutouts of the season.
Maja Lardner, Georgetown, Sr., F
Lardner finished a 2-0 week with two goals and one assist for five points for the Hoyas. Against Providence, she recorded a brace and an assist, directly contributing to three of the team’s five goals.
Cara Martin, Georgetown, Sr., GK
With four saves on the week, Martin extended her shutout streak to over 180 minutes and helped Georgetown maintain its perfect conference record.
Anna Carson, UConn, Sr., D
Carson had two blocked shots on Wednesday and held Villanova to just two shots on goal and eight total.
Samantha Erbach, Xavier, So., F
Erbach had five points for the week on two goal and an assist as the Musketeers remained unbeaten in BIG EAST play with a pair of wins.
