Seton Hall, Xavier, St. John's, and Butler Earn BIG EAST Weekly Golf Honors

NEW YORK – Marta Aguilar of Seton Hall and Isabel Brozena of Xavier were named BIG EAST Women's Golfers of the Week, while Joseph Dolezal of St. John's and Butler's Derek Tabor were tabbed as BIG EAST Men's Golfers of the Week.  

Aguilar tied for first at the Space Coast Classic in Melbourne, Fla. with a 6-under par score of 210.  Brozena finished first at the WMU Rio Verde Invitational in Rio Verde, Ariz.  The sophomore finished with a 1-under par total of 215.

Dolezal captured his first individual victory at the Gulf Coast Collegiate in New Orleans, using a final round 69 (-3) to break a tie atop the leaderboard.  Tabor tied for fifth at the Dorado Beach Collegiate in Puerto Rico, finishing at 3-under with a score of 213.

BIG EAST Women's Golfers of the Week
Marta Aguilar, Seton Hall, So.
Aguilar tied the Seton Hall program record with a 6-under 210 at the Space Coast Classic.  She became the first Pirate women's golfer to capture three career victories.  She opened play with a 4-under par 68, followed by a second round 69 (-3) before closing out competition with a 1-over 73.  It is her third career win in 16 starts.

Isabel Brozena, Xavier, So.
Brozena won her first collegiate title at the WMU Rio Verde Invitational, finishing the 54-holes with a 1-under score of 215.  Her best score of the tournament came in the opening round, firing a 3-under 69.  She posted an even-par 72 in round two and a 2-over 74 over the final 18 holes to secure the victory.  It was her seventh top 10 finish.

BIG EAST Male Golfers of the Week
Joseph Dolezal, St. John's, So.
Dolezal won his first tournament as a collegiate golfer, firing a final round 69 (-3) to win the Gulf Coast Collegiate.  The sophomore broke a three-way tie atop the leaderboard by virtue of his stellar final round, highlighted by a 4-under 32 on the back nine.  He finished with a total score of 225 (80-76-69).

Derek Tabor, Butler, Sr.
Tabor tied for fifth at the Dorado Beach Collegiate in Puerto Rico, posting a 3-under 213 to lead the Bulldogs.  The senior posted scores of 70, 72, and 71, staying under par for all three rounds of the 54-hole tournament, finishing three shots off the lead.  He led the 90-player field in par 3 scoring (2.83 avg, -2).

Women's Team Notes - Xavier and Creighton competed at the WMU Rio Verde Invitational...the Musketeers were runners-up (292-293-304=889), marking their 17th top five finish since the start of the 2022-23 season...during that span, X has also registered five tournament wins and five runner-up finishes...Creighton was 11th as a team (305-301-304=910) - the team's third-best 54-hole score of the 2025-26 season...the Bluejays were led by Madison Murnan and Morgan Becker, who each tied for 30th place (228)...Seton Hall and St. John's competed at the Space Coast Classic...The Pirates placed seventh in the 14-team field (292-304-205=901), while the Red Storm was ninth (302-304-309=915)...SHU's Renee Rane tied for 20th (223) while Laura Mizlerova led St. John's with a tie for 35th (228)...Providence competed at the El Campeon Intercollegiate, finishing in 10th place...Gwendolyn Yarnall was the top Friar finisher, tying for 12th place (83-80-80=243)...Butler split their eight-person roster across two tournaments over the weekend, finishing 15th at the Lake Oconee Invitational and 18th at the Rio Verde Invitational.

Men's Team Notes – Creighton and Villanova competed at the Savannah Intercollegiate...the Bluejays got top 10 finishes from Grant Feldman and Gavin Gerch, pacing a third place team finish...Feldman tied for fourth place with a 3-over 219 (70-73-76), for his eighth career top five finish, while Gerch was sixth (67-75-78=220...Villanova was ninth in Savannah, moving up two spots on the team leaderboard in the final round...Ryan Pamer and Matt Zerfass led the Wildcats, both shooting 224 and tying for 25th place...Butler and Providence competed at the Dorado Beach Collegiate...the Bulldogs finished sixth in the 15-team field at the Dorado Beach Collegiate, with a 1-over par score of 865 (293-285-287)...Butler's Leo Zurovac tied for 11th (76-68-71=215) and was one of three players under par for the par 5 holes...the Friars were 14th overall as a team, led by Campbell Skelly who fired 11 birdies en route to a tie for 34th place with a 5-over 231 (75-70-76)...DePaul placed fifth in the 12-team field at the Military City Collegiate in San Antonio (299-294-302=895)...North Chery led the Blue Demons with his third consecutive top 15 finish, with a final score of 223 (75-72-76)...St. John's was third at the Gulf Coast Collegiate (311-311-294=916), two shots out of second place...it was the fourth top three team performance for the Red Storm over its last five events.
