NEW YORK – Xavier's Cayse Morgan was named BIG EAST Male Golfer of the Week after he captured medalist honors at The People's Championship, held at the Sea Palms Golf Resort in St. Simon's Island, Ga.  His finish helped lead the Musketeers to the team title at the event.

Morgan captured first place at The People's Championship, finishing the three-round, 54-hole tournament at 11-under par, with a total score of 202.  Morgan opened competition with a first round 69, followed by a second round 66, and closing with a 67.  The 202 total score and the second round 66 are season bests.  It marks his third collegiate victory of the 2025-26 season and his first of the spring slate.  He helped lead Xavier to the team title, winning by two strokes.

Men’s Notes: Xavier closed out the team win at The People's Championship, closing out tournament play with a 10-under 274 during the final round...Xavier rallied from three shots down with one hole to play, with three Musketeers making birdie on 18 to secure the two-shot win...In addition to Morgan, two other Musketeer golfers finished under par - t7. Carson Bellish (-5); t16. A.J. Wilhelm (-1)...Two other BIG EAST teams competed at The People's Championship, as Villanova was fifth and Providence 18th...For Villanova, Ryan Pamer led the way, tying for 12th with a 3-under par 210, while Matt Zerfass tied for 16th at 1-under (212)...the Wildcats showed a seven stroke improvement from round two to three...Callan Fahey led the Friars, tying for 22nd place with an even-par 213, including a four-under par 67 in the opening round...Marquette competed at the Shenkel Invitational in Statesboro, Ga, tying for sixth place as a team...Mason Schmidtke paced Marquette with a career-low 6-under 210 to tie for 12th place...DePaul was 11th overall at the Seminole Intercollegiate in Tallahassee, Fla...the Blue Demons were led by North Chery, who tied for 22nd place with a score of 222 (+6)... St. John's placed third at the ECU Intercollegiate in Greenville, N.C., finishing with a three-round score of 885...it was the Red Storm's fifth top-three finish in its last seven events, dating back to the fall season...SJU was led by Joseph Dolezal who tied for fourth placer with a 3-over 219 - his second top-five finish over the last three events.
