Butler, Georgetown Earn BIG EAST Men's Golf Weekly Awards

NEW YORK – Butler's Logan Sutto and Leo Zurovac and Georgetown's Carson Erick earned BIG EAST Male Golfer of the Week accolades, each earning first place in their respective competitions.

Sutto and Zurovac tied for medalist honors at the 2026 Jewell Invitational, hosted by Northern Kentucky.  The Butler duo each finished at even-par, with a 213 total score for the 54-hole event.  It marks Sutto took home his first win of the 2025-26 campaign, while Zurovac's recorded his second consecutive victory for the Bulldogs.  Erick led the Hoyas at the Wildcat Spring Invite, earning his first collegiate victory, firing a final round 69 to seal a one-shot victory.

Sutto records his second BIG EAST weekly honor after using a final round 66 to tie for medalist honors at the 2026 Jewell Invitational, along with teammate Leo Zurovac.  After an opening round 77, the sophomore played the final 36 holes at 6-under.  His tournament-low 66 in the final round featured six birdies and he finished among the top scorers in the field on par 3 (3.08 avg, +1) and par 5 (4.67 avg, -3) holes.

Zurovac earned his second straight BIG EAST weekly award - and his third overall of the season - after tying for medalist honors at the 2026 Jewell Invitational.  The senior tied with teammate Logan Sutto at even-par (213) for the 54-hole tournament.  Zurovac opened with a 4-under 67 and closed tournament play with a 1-under 70.  He led the field in par 4 scoring (3.97 avg, -1).  He has registered two wins and four top five finishes in 2025-26.

Erick earned his first collegiate victory at the Wildcat Spring Invite, hosted at Galloway National Golf Club in New Jersey.  The freshman used a 2-under final round 69 to earn a one-stroke victory, at 3-over (73-74-69=216).  Erick led the 72-player field in par 4 scoring (4.04 avg, +1) and was third-best in par 5 scoring (4.67 avg, -4) en route to the victory.  It was his second top five finish of the 2025-26 season.

Men’s Notes: UConn used a strong final round to capture the Golfweek/Stifel Spring Challenge at True Blue Golf Club in Pawley's Island, S.C...the Huskies were 15-under par with a total team score of 849 (293-275-281) and had three golfers place in the top 10...Kai-Jun Huang was second overall for UConn, with a 54-hole total of 208 (-8), one stroke off the lead as he posted 13 birdies and an eagle for the week...Three BIG EAST teams - Villanova, Georgetown, and Seton Hall -  competed at the Wildcat Fazio Invite...Villanova was the host team, earning the win with a team score of 882, outpacing Georgetown by two strokes...Nova's Ryan Pamer tied for second place, with a total score of 217 (+4)...two Hoyas finished among the top 10 - Carson Erick in first and Barnes Blake tied for sixth...the Pirates placed fourth as a team, with a team score of 897...SHU's David Lally placed fourth with a total score of 220, registering his fifth career top five finish...Butler and Xavier competed at the 2026 Jewell Invitational, held at the Elks Run Golf Course in Batavia, Ohio...the Bulldogs used a strong final round (285, +1) to finish third as a team, with a 54-hole total score of 874...the Musketeers were fourth (877) at the Jewell, led by Zach Burton tying for fourth place with a 2-over 215 (72-72-71)...it marked the sixth top 10 finish of Burton's career...Xavier also competed at the Tiger Invitational, finishing fourth in the 19-team field...Kellen Dean led the Musketeers, tying for fifth (208, -2) while Cayse Morgan tied for ninth (211, +1) in the 100-golfer field at The Club at Old Hawthorne...Creighton's Grant Feldman placed eighth (72-72-70=214, -2) at the UCSB Gaucho Invite, held at Sandpiper Golf Course, en route to his fourth straight top 10 finish...as a team, the Bluejays were eighth with a 54-hole total score of 879...St. John's competed at the Augusta Haskins Award Invitational, finishing in 15th place at the tournament held at Forest Hills Golf Course in Augusta, Ga...the Red Storm were led by freshman Eli Weidmann who tied for 41st place with a 2-under 214...DePaul placed 13th as a team at the Giles-Spratley Collegiate...the Blue Demons were led by Rohan Gopaldas, who tied for 45th place (220, +4).
