BIG EAST Player of the Week
Emily Jonte, Providence, Sr., P/OF
Jonte batted .677 and recorded six hits, seven RBI and scored five runs in the 3-0 weekend against DePaul. She ended the series with a .889 slugging percentage and .727 on-base percentage. The senior opened the series with three runs scored and RBI, before closing out the weekend with back-to-back three RBI performances.
BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week
Ana Serafinko, St. John's, Sr., P
Serafinko went 2-0 in the circle across four appearances, including two complete games, posting a 1.81 ERA over 19.1 innings. She allowed just 16 hits and five earned runs while striking out 23 batters and holding opponents to a .213 batting average. She also made a difference offensively, collecting six hits, 10 RBI and scoring four runs in a 3-1 week for the Red Storm.
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Zoey Greenwood, Creighton, Fr., OF
Greenwood finished Creighton’s three-game sweep of Villanova going 6-for-13 (.462) with a home run, three RBI, three runs scored and three stolen bases. The freshman phenom started the week with an RBI single in the ‘Jays’ midweek setback to Iowa State, before going 1-for-4 in the Jays’ 11-10 series-opening walk-off win over Villanova on Friday.
Honor Roll
Hailey Conger, Butler, Sr. OF
Conger went 6-for-11 (.544) to go with five runs scored, five RBI and one stolen base in the weekend sweep over Seton Hall. In the 11-3 game-three-win, Conger produced four RBI in her final two at-bats in the fifth and sixth innings – key to securing the victory over Seton Hall.
Katie Petran, Butler, Jr., P
Petran recorded five strikeouts and gave up nine hits in 8.2 innings of work in two appearances as Butler swept Seton Hall. Petran pitched a complete-game shutout victory in game one versus the Pirates (3-0). She also entered game three in the fifth and closed out the game for an 11-3 win.
Audrey Gilman, Creighton, Fr., P
Gilman led the Bluejays to a series sweep of Villanova, posting a 2-0 record with a 3.71 ERA in 11.1 innings of work. The freshman right-hander struck out nine over the weekend, while allowing just six earned runs on 12 total hits. The Kampsville, Ill. native picked up her seventh win of the season after striking out three in 6.1 innings.
Tara Vandewater, Creighton, So., UTL
Vandewater guided the Bluejays to their series sweep of Villanova, hitting .500 (6-of-12) with two walks, seven RBI and five runs scored, while posting a 1.083 slugging percentage with four doubles and a home run.
Alannah Hopkins, Providence, Sr., P
Hopkins ended the week with a 1.75 ERA in eight innings pitched, to go along with seven strikeouts. She allowed just a .214 hitting percentage in a 1-0 week.
