NEW YORK (March 24, 2021) --  The Electronic Gaming Federation (EGF), the national governing body for formalized collegiate D-I esports and high school level leagues, will host two BIG EAST championships this weekend, completing the most comprehensive and competitive esports season in league history.

On Saturday, March 27, No. 1 seed DePaul takes on No. 4 seed Marquette at 1 p.m. ET, while No. 2 seed St. John’s meets No. 3 seed Butler at 3 p.m. in the BIG EAST League of Legends™  semifinals. The finals will take place on April 10 at 1 p.m.

The League of Legends™ Championship will be streamed on the BIG EAST Twitch Channel: twitch.tv/bigeastesports. The full bracket and schedule with stats and standings can be found here.

Meanwhile, on Sunday, March 28, eight schools: Butler, Connecticut, DePaul, Marquette, St. John’s, Seton Hall, Villanova and Xavier will vie for the BIG EAST Rocket League title. Competition begins at 12:45 p.m. ET, with the finals to be held at 3:45 p.m. The winner qualifies for the EGF National Championship this spring. Earlier this fall, the BIG EAST competed against the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference in a one-day Rocket League Tournament, also hosted by EGF.

The Rocket League championship will be streamed on the EGF Official Rocket League Twitch Channel: Twitch.tv/EGFRocketLeague.

“We have continued to grow our footprint, and the work that the BIG EAST has put in this year to grow esports on the collegiate level has been unprecedented,” said Tyler Schrodt, EGF Founder. “They are a valuable partner with high quality student-athletes, coaches and administrators, and these championships will show how fun, and highly competitive their schools are. We are looking forward to this weekend and where we will all go together later this year.”

The EGF continues to grow its intercollegiate footprint, with over 35 schools participating in its championships this winter, including leagues like the MAAC and the BIG EAST.

The full bracket and schedule with stats and standings can be found here.
