NEW YORK, NY (Oct. 18, 2024) – The BIG EAST Conference, in partnership with Playfly Sports, is excited to announce the BIG EAST Esports Fall Showdown, an event designed to showcase BIG EAST’s schools and students and to raise awareness ahead of the spring varsity season. Participating schools include Creighton University, DePaul University, Seton Hall University, St. John's University, and Villanova University.
 
"The BIG EAST Conference is pleased to continue supporting students on our campuses who are involved in competitive gaming. Our partnership with Playfly will provide a solid competitive opportunity for our students this fall and into the spring season," said Chris Schneider, Executive Associate Commissioner of Sport Administration and Championships.
 
The fall event will take place on Sunday, Oct. 27 beginning at 3 p.m. ET, and will feature matches in major esports titles that the BIG EAST Conference supports, including League of Legends, Overwatch 2, Rocket League, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The full schedule of matchups is available below.
 
3:00 p.m. ET - League of Legends - St. John's vs. Villanova
4:00 p.m. ET - Super Smash Bros. Ultimate - DePaul vs. St. John's
4:45 p.m. ET - Rocket League - DePaul vs. Seton Hall
5:30 p.m. ET - Overwatch 2 - Creighton vs. Seton Hall
