NEW YORK – The spring 2022 League of Legends™ BIG EAST Championship is set to begin Saturday at 3 p.m. ET, with a quartet of team’s vying for a spot in Sunday’s Championship match.
The full spring slate consisted of a best-of-three round robin, with each team playing each other team once. After seven weeks and 28 completed regular-season matches, the top-four positions in the league standings were solidified on March 19. This season, competitions are run by Battlefy and all results can be found

Heading into the final week were a pair of undefeated squads playing for the top-seed in the tournament, as well as three teams battling for the fourth seed.
In the first match of the day, Butler looked to keep its season alive against Seton Hall. The Bulldogs got off on the right foot with an opening round victory. However, the Pirates quickly regrouped with a second-round triumph, before ultimately winning the contest 2-1. With the win UConn locked up the No. 3-seed in the BIG EAST Championship, due to tiebreakers.
In the deciding match for the fourth and final seed in the tournament, Villanova struck first with an opening round win over St. John’s. However, in similar fashion to the morning match between Seton Hall and Butler, St. John’s completed the comeback with a 42:18 kills to death ratio over the final two rounds to win, 2-1.
In the final match of the day, undefeated Seton Hall and previously undefeated DePaul faced off with the winner claiming the top-seed in the BIG EAST Championship. The Pirates dominated from start to finish with a 48:17 kills to death ratio to wrap up the spring regular season a perfect 7-0.
In regular season competition, Seton Hall’s ivernedthisrank led all gamers with 122 kills in seven games, while DePaul’s kingamazin ranked second with 114.
As a team, DePaul led the league with a 6.2 kills and assists over death ratio, while Seton Hall finished closely behind with a 5.6.

EGFC is the national Division I Varsity Esports League with a growing number of schools bringing their own elite teams together to vie for National Championships across a number of game titles.
