NEW YORK – Marquette’s Hunter Eichhorn has been named BIG EAST Male Golfer of the Week for a second straight week after a first-place finish at the Wildcat Invitational.

Hunter Eichhorn, Marquette, Gr. – Eichhorn takes Golfer of the Week honors after taking medalist honors at the Wildcat Invitational. He shot a 3-under 137 for 36 holes and picked up his sixth career win. Eichhorn shot a 68 in the first round followed by a 69 in the second round. It was his fourth top-10 finish in five tournaments this spring. He has earned Golfer of the Week honors four times in 2021-22.
Men’s Notes -- Butler finished eighth in a 13-team field in the Wright State Invitational. Raymond Sullivan and Damon Dickey led the Bulldogs with matching scores of 7-over 149. The duo shot a 73 in the morning round before carding a 76 in the afternoon. They tied for 13
th. The third round was canceled by inclement weather…
Creighton took third place among 14 teams at the Hawkeye Invitational. Shaun Campbell, a transfer from Kansas, posted his first top-10 finish as a Bluejay. The sophomore tied for eighth place with a 215 (69-74-72). He is a collective 3-under in his past three tournaments…
Seton Hall finished fourth at the Rutherford Intercollegiate with a 19-over 871. The best Pirate performer was junior Wenliang Xie, who shot a 1-under 212 (68-71-73). He tied for third place only two strokes from the leader. It’s Xie’s third career top-five finish and sixth top-10 effort…
Georgetown and
UConn also played in the Rutherford Intercollegiate. The Hoyas placed eighth and the Huskies were tied for 10
th. The Hoyas were led by freshman Jacob Finard, who was tied for 18
th at 220 (75-76-76. For the Huskies, sophomore Tommy Dallahan and freshman Trevor Lopez each shot an 11-over 224. Dallahan’s three rounds were 74-75-75. Lopez was 76-73-75…Also for
Marquette at the Wildcat Invitational, Tyler Leach finished third with a 139 (69-70) and freshman Max Lyons shot a 4-over 144. The Golden Eagles finished atop the team standings by 15 strokes.
St. John’s tied for third in the team standings. Junior Gage Wolfle tied for eighth at 145 (71-74). Host
Villanova finished eighth in the team standings. Peter Weaver carded a 5-over 145 (72-73).
Women’s Notes – Only two women’s teams competed in the past week.
Butler finished third at the Lady Jaguar Invitational. The Bulldogs finished the 36-hole tournament at 609 (+33). Ally Ross finished second with a 1-under 143. She shot a 1-under 71 followed by an even-par 72…
Xavier took eighth place at the Lady Buckeye Invitational. Sophomore Emma McMyler led the Musketeers with an 11
th-place finish. She shot a 12-over 228 (74-79-75).
