SHU's Nolan, Villanova's Zerfass Take Final Fall Weekly Golf Honors

NEW YORK – Luke Nolan of Seton Hall and Matt Zerfass of Villanova were named BIG EAST Male Golfers of the Week.  Nolan won the Metropolitan Championship, while Zerfass captured Big 5 medalist honors to take home the final fall weekly conference honors.  BIG EAST women’s teams have already completed their fall schedules.

Nolan earned a share of the individual title and helped lift Seton Hall to the Metropolitan Intercollegiate championship at Montclair Golf Club on Oct. 28. Nolan tied for the individual title with a two-round total of 146, earning his first career victory and first career top 10 finish.

Matt Zerfass, Villanova, Sr.
Zerfass also captured his first collegiate tournament win, carding a 1-under 69 to take home the individual victory at The 1912 Club on Nov. 6.  His play helped propel Villanova to the team title at the Big Five Championship - the program's first win since April 16, 2024.

Men’s NotesUConn's Bradley Sawka fired a 7-under total of 206 at the Ka'anapali Classic in Maui...it was his best three-round tournament score as a Husky, tying for 29th in the competitive field...his final round 66 was the lowest round of his career and the lowest round posted by a Husky this season....as a team, UConn turned in their best team performance of the season, finishing 11th and posting a season-low team score of 833 (-19) over the three-day tournament at the Royal Ka'anapali Golf Course...Max McColgan of St. John's tied for runner-up at the Wykagyl Invitational, firing a 4-under par 212...the freshman logged 36 pars over the 54 holes of play...the Red Storm finished third, marking the third consecutive top three finish as a team...Georgetown's Carson Erick was second at the ODU/OBX Tournament at Kilmarlic Golf Club in Powells Point, N.C. on Oct. 28...Erick's second round 66 was the low round of the tournament...the Hoyas finished second as a team...On the final weekend of play, Seton Hall split up its squad to compete at both the Metropolitan Championship and the FAU Invitational...the Pirates rallied from three strokes behind entering the final round to take the Met title on Oct. 28...at FAU, Seton Hall placed 10th in the 36-hole event, led by Jace Hulett's 32nd place finish...Creighton's Grant Feldman led the Bluejays for the fifth time in as many starts during the fall slate, tying for 14th place the FAU Invitational with a 2-under total of 142...CU finished tied for 12th...Villanova waited to week to win the Big Five team title, as the tournament was delayed and relocated due to weather...Butler closed out the fall finishing 11th at the inaugural Pearl at Kalauoa Invitational in 'Aiea on the island of O'ahu in Hawaii...Derek Tabor and Logan Sutto paced the Bulldogs, carding 54-hole totals of four-over 220, finishing tied for 34th...Marquette closed out the fall finishing eighth at The Clerico in Tulsa...Johan Widal led the Golden Eagles, finishing 16th with a total score of 218.
