Butler's Dodd, Georgetown's Blake Named BIG EAST Golfers of the Week

NEW YORK – Treva Dodd of Butler and Barnes Blake from Georgetown were named BIG EAST Golfers of the Week.  Dodd earned medalist honors at the Bradley Coyote Creek Classic while leading the Bulldogs to the team title.  She won by four strokes, compiling an aggregate score of 213 (-3).  Blake posted his second runner-up performance of the season for Georgetown at the Hamptons Intercollegiate with a total score of 213 (-3).

Dodd was the medalist at the Bradley Coyote Creek Classic, finishing the tournament with a 3-under par aggregate score of 213 - tying for the program's 54-hole scoring record.  She won by four strokes and tallied 14 birdies - including a stretch of five straight in the second round.

BIG EAST Male Golfer of the Week
Barnes Blake, Georgetown, Jr.

Blake finished as runner-up at the Hamptons Intercollegiate, held in East Hampton, N.Y. He carded rounds of 69, 71, and 73 to secure second place for the Hoyas - only two shots back of the medalist.  Blake ranked second among the field in par 4 scoring (-3, 3.90 avg.).

Women's Notes - With five of the first seven spots on the leaderboard, Butler captured the team title at the Bradley Coyote Creek Classic...the Bulldogs' 54-hole total of 882 (+18) included a new 18-hole program record score of 281 relative to par...Xavier's Ashley Kirkland tied for ninth place, with a 2-under par total score of 214 at the Ron Moore Intercollegiate...the Musketeers tied for fifth as a team (872)...A trio of BIG EAST teams - St. John's, Georgetown, and Seton Hall - competed at the Princeton Invitational...the Red Storm placed seventh on the team leaderboard and were led by Laura Mizlerova, who tied for 17th place (222, +9)...Georgetown was one stroke behind St. John's, finishing eighth overall...Georgia Ruffolo used a final round 71 to move into a tie for 17th place (222)...Marta Aguilar of Seton Hall tied for 12th (219, +6) at the Princeton Invitational as the Pirates finished 13th.

Men’s Notes Marquette's Mason Schmidtke tied for sixth (220, +4) as the Golden Eagles placed sixth at their Marquette Invitational, held at Erin Hills...DePaul placed 10th at the West Bay Collegiate Invitational, held in Fort Myers, Fla...the Blue Demons were led by Dominic Lucchesi, who tied for 26th place (214, -2)...Georgetown finished 10th as a team at the Hamptons Intercollegiate.
